Construction of an osmosis plant for the recovery of secondary water and well water destined for discharge

Worked on this project:

Construction of an osmosis plant for the recovery of secondary water and well water destined for discharge

We built a double reverse osmosis plant for the production of industrial water for production process cooling for a total of 200 m3/h. of permeate with a final blending of 260 m3/h. of water at 14°F for a major food production company in the province of Cuneo.

This intervention has allowed the customer to free itself from drawing water from the Tanaro river, with decisive consequences in terms of water supply security. Thanks to the new plant, water is now taken from the wells and piped into a 1,000 m3 tank, from which it is drawn, treated with reverse osmosis and distributed throughout the plant.

Advantages:

  1. Water consumption savings: approx. 700,000 m3 water/year
  2. Cost and process optimisation
  3. Less sludge produced
  4. Important and significant reduction of basic chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, sulphuric acid, hydrated lime and sodium hypochlorite)
  5. Improved water quality (40 to 14°F)
  6. Release from environmental and atmospheric conditions
  7. Consistent water quality regardless of river conditions
